Welcome to Chi Care Reflexology in Tenterden, Cranbrook and the Weald of Kent. Professional reflexology treatment for health, relaxation and renewal.
My name is Karen West - a reflexology practitioner offering treatments at a clinic in Tenterden (on Wednesday mornings) and from home in Cranbrook (weekday evenings). This means I’m easily accessible for clients in surrounding villages such as Sissinghurst, Frittenden, Staplehurst, Goudhurst, Hawkhurst, Benenden, Rolvenden, Biddenden and Sandhurst.
Whether you wish to address an ongoing health problem, receive regular treatments to address the everyday stresses of daily life or just want some ‘me’ time I can offer bespoke treatment plans, or one-off sessions that aim to help you feel healthier and more energised.
I am a full member of the Associations of Reflexologists.

All organs and systems in the body rely upon the nervous system and its powerhouse the brain to know what to do and when to do it.
Reflexologists believe that neuroreceptor areas on the feet, hands, face and ears directly relate to specific areas of the body. They believe that by using hands-on pressure to stimulate these neuroreceptors, the body can be encouraged to balance problems in the relevant organs and systems.
I offer professional reflexology treatments to adults who wish to achieve good internal balance, relaxation and stress reduction.

Reflexology is a wonderful way of maintaining your body's healthy balance and general wellbeing, reducing the stresses and tensions that come with busy lifestyles and giving us a space to reflect on the mind as well as the body.

In its simplest form reflexology is a very relaxing treatment so anything that helps a client physically reconnect with feeling relaxed is beneficial. Reflexologists deliberately work on reflexes that target areas of the body that promote relaxation such as the diaphragm, lungs, shoulders, neck and spine – areas where most people carry their tension.

While it is not a cure, reflexology can be particularly helpful in managing many health conditions, and associated symptoms that individuals start to accept over time as being simply part of their daily lives. For more frequently asked questions, please click here.

How many treatments will I need?
Everyone is different and the response to Reflexology can be immediate or sometimes take longer than one appointment, however benefits can be seen after 4-5 sessions. Regular weekly treatments are best to encourage the self-healing process. Following an initial consultation I will suggest the number of Reflexology sessions I think we should undertake.

Can you diagnose my health problems?
Reflexologists do not claim to diagnose or cure, but during a treatment we get 'feedback' as to which parts of the body are working well and which are not. Sometimes reflexology will highlight a specific area which is struggling or working hard to maintain your wellbeing; if a particular reflex point shows this kind of reaction I'll discuss it with you at the end of the session.
What happens in a treatment? Do I need to undress?
Reflexology is performed entirely on the feet or hands, so the most you’ll have to do is take off your socks and roll up your trousers! During the treatment the client lies on their back on a reclining chair or treatment couch, supported by pillows and covered with a soft blanket to keep them warm.
Please don’t worry - reflexology doesn't tickle! Many clients come to me with ticklish feet or worried about their feet being touched, however, they often find they can relax and enjoy the benefits of Reflexology.
Does reflexology hurt?
You might find that some areas feel sensitive to the touch, but reflexology does not require hard pressure. I will check the level of pressure I’m using for you and will encourage you to let me know if you require a lighter touch or not. As a therapist I will be aware of the status of your feet, noticing how they feel, the temperature and colour. All these things play a part in understanding which areas of your body - as reflected through your feet - require a bit more care and attention.
Should I carry on having Reflexology?
Not necessarily, but after an initial course of treatment many people choose to check in monthly for a top-up, to help maintain their general wellbeing, or as a scheduled 'de-stress'. Other clients will get back in touch if they start feeling symptoms returning, arranging treatments as and when they need them.
